Perfect start to Sunday

I awoke this morning to this outside my window:

This is the first snow this season that has actually stuck! I love snow, I'm so excited for a bigger snowstorm to come! I decided I wanted to bake something, but nothing too complicated. I was flipping through one of my parents' cookbooks and saw a recipe for popovers, then looked on recipezaar to find a whole wheat recipe. I used this recipe and they turned out perfectly! Very moist and airy.
They were hollow inside, as popovers should be, and I put a bit of butter inside mine. Yum! Then I made a killer bowl of carrot cake oats:
This bowl consisted of
  • 1/2 cup dry oats
  • 1/2 c. milk, 1/2 c water
  • 1/4 raisins
  • 2 tbs. vanilla yogurt
  • 8 shredded baby carrots
  • 1/4 tsp each Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves
This may be my new favorite kind of porridge! The yogurt made a sort of "frosting" and the spices really did make it taste like carrot cake. Today I'm going to see Twilight with my sister, then I'm going to Whole Foods and the regular grocery store.
